If you enjoyed cheesy B-movies like Tomb Raider and Tremors, this will no disappoint. Knowing a bit of history and Chinese cultural mores will help you make sense of some of choices they make. But even without it, it's a fun movie to laugh along with and the hero has a cute wink. Pop the popcorn, grab a drink, and enjoy!

Based solely on the conceptualization and execution of Vfx and Color Grade. Female character well established. Towards end - the movie does seem to get a little lengthy (formal way of saying boring.)

I should have known from the twenty minutes of production logos and opening credits that this movie was in no hurry to get anywhere. A good twenty or thirty minutes could and should have been trimmed off this story of tomb raiders searching for a mystical relic. The sets were impressive and the CGI is slightly better than what we usually get from a Chinese movie. But the music and the hair (oh, that hair) are god-awful.
