I'd say this is a good movie, one that mostly suggests instead of show you the more horrific aspects of Michael's pedophilia. That's definitely far more disturbing than explicitly telling us what happened. The film isn't perfect really, I think it does take a darkly comical approach to how Michael's life is completely uneventful despite the fact that he's a pervert who's kidnapped a 10 year old boy. Michael Fuith's performance is excellent and he definitely looks the part of creepy pedophile. I don't think there's much to say about the movie, it's definitely not an easy movie to watch with its subject matter but I think it's good enough to recommend watching on netflix.

This accomplished and daring film is masterfully made. It naturally evokes Haneke as well as Bresson. It's non-exploitative and remarkable non-judgmental. The story unfolds with clinical precision and the shots are frighteningly accurate. This is an important film made at the right time. The performances are impeccable and the film takes its time. We're left gasping and most importantly of all, discussing, long after the film is over.

Haneke fans will be impressed by this rigorous, finely acted study of a suburban paedophile. Skillfully avoiding sensationalism, it nonetheless compels the viewer to contemplate the banality of evil.

Realistic and not exploitive, this film ends up being every parents nightmare (and not just in the way you may think).

serem amat kalo ada kejadian kayak gini. semoga david rauchenberger sang pemeran wolfgang ga kepengaruh dengan peran-nya di film ini. :)
