There are some nice effects and good fighting scenes, but I did however feel that it was more suited for a series episode (a long one), but it wasn't all movie material for my sake. Allright acting, allright history, nice scenery and clothes, very realistic, but it just wasn't enough, it needed something...

Now this, this is a movie more to my liking (high hopes). In fair continuity with the stories of the aruthorian myths, the nights of the round table are needed once more, for a new threat overcomes Camelot. Only now Camelot almost in ruin and all but Merlin are next generation guys. Kinda good angle to see, as so do I feel as the generation befor, a life time away from when this fantasy relm enchanted me as no other rewritten many times. Hammie enough for the seriousness is aplenty and with villainous evil in a strong position, the group must gather and re-gather to dis-spell all opposition upon their quest.

A Terrible TV Movie, Which Has A Bad Plot, Terrible Acting And An Extremely Terrible Script. The Film Follows King Arthur's Daughter As She Leads A Band Of Men Against Arkadian (An Evil Sorcerer). Arkadian Has The Book Of Beasts And He's About To Unleash It's Power Over Camelot. Merlin Is Brought In To Do Battle. The Film May Sound Appealing To Fantasy Fans, But This Must Be Avoided, It's Not The Worst Film I've Seen, & This Is Watchable Compared To Some Others, But That Being Said It's Still One That I'd Recommend Avoiding.

Where to start really. This film has everything. Terrible acting, terrible effects and what can only be drunken direction, camera work and editing. There are seemingly random scenes which make no sense whatsoever. Merlin's Welsh accent (Yes welsh-why lord only knows) is not only funny "isn't it, you see" but hard to work out. The retrieval of Excalibur from the stone is one of the worst scenes I have ever seen especially the petit blond trying to make it look important but fails miserably. It would appear they ran out of money or got bored themselves on trying to do effects so they just cut to the next random scene making you think what just happened then!! - But you get to a point where you have to watch the end just to see how much more ridiculous the story would become. To sum up a bit like watching a budget porn movie without the good bits. But no, cannot end it there there needs another special mention to the wobbly camera work which leaves you thinking a camcorder would have done a better job with a octogenarian holding it. Hopefully enough said.

I only watched this on the back of James Callis' great performance as Gaius Baltar in Battlestar Galactica. It started off quite well and has a reasonable budget for a Sci-Fi Channel tv movie. When Merlin (Callis) finally does make an appearance I laughed out loud at his gruff Welsh accent for the character. What was he playing at? Somehow Callis' weird yet strangely brilliant performance kept me interested for 90 mins. Story was pretty poor and so were some of the performances from the lesser known actors but I expected that. Effects weren't bad though. Big thing that I didn't like was the Gorgon's from Greek mythology making an appearance, hated that idea. Not the best but I've seen many, many worse movies. Fans of BSG may find it an interesting novelty just to hear Callis' attempt at a different accent.
