perhaps the best movie about homosexuality and it is based on a novel written in the early 1900's

One of the first films I saw with any homosexual references and beautiful to look at like all Merchant Ivory films. Book is great too.

great movie for any gay man. Full frontal male nudity is a bonus, too.

A period drama - exquisitely made - capturing the subtle and hidden turbulent emotional dramas of the 1900's. Never has a kiss between two men in the context of the repressed sexual desire framing the film seem so explosive especially as the Scudder/Maurice connection breaks so many of the societal taboos in ernest secrecy!

One of a VERY few movies pertaining to homosexuality that does not include serial killers, aids, or really bad acting! A refreshing and exciting look at gay romance; tastefull dialogue and an amazing wardrobe. This movie is a landmark for gay cinema.
