I just rewatched this movie. First time I saw this movie was in Antwerp together with my ex-bf totally alone in a big cinema. Love defies all barriers thats what I learned from this movie. Great great movie !

Oh Scudder! When you came through the window I knew I was gay. This movie goes perfectly well with a rich red wine finished with some warmed cognac. Yum.

Beautiful portrayal of two young mens forbidden love for each other in a very concervative environment! James Wilby is fantastic and whatever happened to this wonderful talent?? He deserves to be a much bigger star than his co-star Hugh Grant turned out to be. Although Hugh Grant does a wonderful job and I firmly believe he does his absolute best work in this film!!
