Masters of the Universe (1987)

When the evil Skeletor finds a mysterious power called the Cosmic Key, he becomes nearly invincible, seizing Castle Grayskull and the surrounding city. The Sorceress is now Skeletor's prisoner and he begins to drain her life-force as he waits for the moon of Eternia to align with the Great Eye of the Universe which will bestow god-like power upon him. However, courageous warrior He-Man locates the locksmith inventor Gwildor, who created the Key and has another version of it. During a battle, one of the Keys is transported to Earth, where it is found by teenagers Julie and Kevin. Now, both He-Man and Skeletor's forces arrive on Earth searching for the potent weapon.

This movie is so great that I wish I could give it 10 stars. If cheese was an analog of gravity then this movie would be so dense as to cause a rip in the Movie/Time continuum. It's raw shittitude is so massive that you can't hate it,like a pug or something else fucking hideously cute. I love you Masters of the Universe and if you could fill my man womb with your seed I would give you a mighty son,and I would call it "Thundercats"

I grew up watching the cartoon as a kid, and not knowing about this movie until recently. It is very well done, with a somewhat typical story by traveling through space to Earth and having locals help them. There is even a little bit of time travel at the ending. Great work on costumes and makeup although the monsters looked almost identical. Not much acting since the story is very simple, but there are lots of flying scooters and laser fire. Great and fun movie.

So incredibly awful that it breaks the sound-barrier back to awesome. Mind-numbingly horrific in a way that truly begs to be seen. Frank Lagella as Skeletor is one of the truly must see horrible performances of all time.
