a musical biography of one of the greatest artists of all time? This one could burn out your dvd/blu-ray player

Everything you would expect to be in a doc about Bob Marley, plus much, much more. The music speaks for itself, but there are some incredibly rare demos and early takes of Marley's career that would please any fan. Incredibly deep with the amount of material covered, all leading to a very emotional conclusion. What a great man. He still influences many people all around the world (including myself) to this very day, and into the far future. The legacy he helped create will live on forever. Why do so many GREAT people, that touch others in such a way, have to leave our world so young.

Amazing documentary. Full of life and very authentic. The atmosphere is so well created, whether it's because of the interviews, the concert footage, or the occasional overhead helicopter shots of Jamaica. It feels like you're with Bob Marley the entire time watching his life unfold.

Wow! Amazingly sublime...not only an incredible narrative, but the multimodal magic between the use photographs, music, video, (the landscape shots sequences combined with his music is ineffable)...I would call this an exemplar of digital alchemy...

Watching this, I was surprised about how much I didn't know about Bob Marley. The man was so much more complicated than I realized. Filled with interesting footage, interviews, live performances and demo tracks, the scope of his music went way back to 1963. Marley was cutting his first track the same year The Beatles made their first album. Exploring his early musical legacy was one of the treats of "Marley". Hope a soundtrack album is in the future. Worth a look!
