"Man Down" is a remarkable film dealing with the issues of the effects of combat on our veterans including PTSD, TBI and the resulting psychological impact on vets when they return home including homelessness and the tragic suicide rate. This psychological thriller follows a young veterans who returns home from Afghanistan where he finds that the place he once called home is now a war torn battlefield like he fought on overseas. Joined by a fellow vet, he searches desperately for the whereabouts of his son and wife. Spoiler Alert!! The problem is that the war torn U.S. battlefield and enemies are all in the Vets mind. With a tragic ending this film portrays what actually happens to our veterans with PTSD related pain and is a must see for everyone and promotes the case for veterans support. Support Veterans...Pass the word.

The acting of Shia Labouf is flawless, as he portrays the horrors of war and the mental effects and life changing moments they present to the average marine. Though the obviously dramatisized story is certainly not a common one in real life, the excellent acting amungst all of the cast and well cloaked ending put the effects war in perspective and make for an excellent and repeatable movie watching experience.

Wow,, you have to really watch the movie, but you can put together what is going on. The performance by Shia LaBeouf was beyond words...I couldn't stop crying. My husband, a Vietnam vet who is very reserved, broke down in the parking lot, sobbing. A very emotional movie about a very emotional topic. I wish there was a way to get more people to see it and not go by the critics lousy reviews, they are way off on this one.

Overall a good movie, that's well directed and with excellent performances from all of the major cast members. There are some plot issues relating to organization of events that could possibly be improved, but nothing that really hurts the film per se, just things that could have been done differently. It's a rare film where that isn't the case to some extent. The critics' reviews seem absurdly low given the contrast with audience scores. The only thing I can think of is that possibly some of them either have a personal grudge with somebody involved, or are just piling on. It's hard to believe otherwise when this film, which flat out is not bad, could be getting a 10% rating, while Tyler Perry's "Boo, A Madea Halloween" is sitting at 22%.
