This movie was surprisingly enjoyable. Thumbs up! If you are on the fence about this movie, just give it a shot...

Not a 10, but I give it an 8.5/10. I love the performances, besides the mediocre actor for Philip, I love the main and supporting characters, mainly Maleficent, Aurora, Ingrith, Diaval, Conall, Borra, Philip, Gerda, and John. The first act is a nice set up for the film that introduces all of these new characters with this nice and happy tone, before the intense dinner scene. The second act explores Maleficent's species and gives more tension between Ingrith and Aurora. So now it's the humans of Ulstead, creatures of the Moors, and the Dark Fey colony. I love it. The third act is this epic war that is quite violent and entertaining. I can see why some people didn't like it, but I still enjoy it. Especially when compared to the mediocre 2014 film.

After a run of live-action Disney remakes that mostly play things safe, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil is a much needed swing-for-the-fences dose of originality. It doesn’t always hit it out of the park, but it’s wickedly fun to watch it try.

Jolie’s magnetism, plus the way she toes the line between being a fairy version of Batman and a menacing mistress of not-quite-evil-but-pretty-close, is why these “Maleficent” movies work. She fits the character as well as her endless cycle of evolving costumes.

This is definitely a great Disney film. Bright decoration, cool acting... Angelina is magnificent here. Really guys who dare to grade this masterpiece at 2?! (sorry for poor English) I had only positive emotions after the film, and much appreciate for this to actors (except Elle Fanning, she not ok here) and to Joachim Rønning. Feels like an old Disney's story. Thank you for the picture.
