I love this movie, not much more I can say!!!

i love this movie. it's a character piece with a strong, insightful story--a rarity these days. add to that great acting, amazing camera work, and seriously awesome surfing and skateboarding, and you've got a film that's a joy to watch. i passed on seeing this in the theater because i assumed it would be yet another sex-and-drugs-and-aren't-we-cool skate-ploitation flick. in another director's hands, it well may have been. but catherine hardwicke is a cool ass lady, who injected depth and heart and a female perspective into stacy peralta's autobiographical screenplay. watch it. it's great.

I really loved this movie... I like how it explains the origins and history of skateboarding without just being a boring documentary... also, Heath Ledger's role in this movie is one of the few that I enjoyed from his career
