The fury and hate that John Osborne was able to pack into a flow of violent words in his stage play, Look Back in Anger, are not only matched but also documented in the film that the original stage director, Tony Richardson, has made from that vicious play.

This was kind of a consolation prize after my aborted attempt at reading Ulysis. Burton's performance is extraordinary. Is it all really that futile?

excellent drama as a musician living in near poverty with his middle class wife leads to a breakdown in their relationship and to him into an affair.

Watch it if only for Richard Burton's performance. A true master, the best in his day. Full of emotional intensity.
