Brilliant performance by William Powell as Clare, as the banker/father of a family in NYC in at the end of the 19th Century. Powell tries to run his house on a business basis. He is master of his house, except when his wife discovers that he has never been baptized. One of the cleverest comedies ever filmed.

A fun family flick with some good comedy, entertaining performances, and enough of an undertone to accompany its depth of what life really is like with father.

A great classic film with a supporting cast of members that compliment one another. This kind of acting is hard to come by and is a treat to see a film such as this, when its done well.
