"Laurence Anyways" is a formidable display of French Canadian director Xavier Dolan's prodigious talents, but also a case study of a young talent still finding his way to greatness.He'll get there one day, soon, but this film doesn't quite do it.

there is no need of stylization in such a beautiful story...nor the need to extend it to a point in which we believe it's going to be over for more than three times..but still better than his past one.

Gorgeous. Absolutely GORGEOUS film. There's been comparisons to Cronenberg (as a Canadian), but I'd say he's closer to Tom Ford. Some of his shots remind me of early Kubrick (high high praise). Just immense storytelling.

Beautiful movie! Yes. it's long! Almost three hours and there were times I wonder if some of the scene were necessary. But I am glad I didn't stop watching. It has one of the most beautiful story and the two leads were PERFECT! I can't wait to watch more work by Xavier Dolan (the director). He's only 25 years old!
