So many movies are all sizzle and no steak; it’s kind of refreshing, in a way, to be frustrated by all steak and no sizzle.

Showing a strong propensity for coming-of-age stories, Stephen Cone still couldn't match The Wise Kids, but this new effort is a valid example on how two completely different persons can positively mark the lives of each other forever.

Not a lot happens in Princess Cyd, but it's hard not to watch this film without feeling changed.

It's a coming of age story for the young character, and a rediscovery story for the adult character. Their interactions don't seem entirely plausible because there are moments where everything feels too idealistic, and their talks don't have the required depth, but even so, it seemed like a fairly competent film to me.

While the chemistry between Pinnick and Spence is sweet and familial, I couldn’t help but think so much of this film is just…nice. It’s that pretty feather you found in the grass. And maybe you’ll take it home, but will likely forget you did.
