A weak addition to the Horrorfest line-up this year, considering the awful script, gross direction/quality, the mention of "Top 8" from Myspace, the horrible acting/actors...and to top it all off there was a rape scene. Besides all of the attrocities of this movie, the deaths were pretty cool...and that is about it. Only worth a check if your into B- movies and can stomach some of the things mentioned. I'd see Texas Chainsaw instead, seriosuly.

lake dead is a film that is more messed up rather than scary. the acting is bad and the entire storyline goes over the top when it comes to family. it fails to deliver a good story, nor does it delivers any true suspense nor thrills. the girls in the film are obnoxious and make stupid decisions. there is a good amount of violence, but i wanted more blood and gore. the film makes woman seem helpless and it is kind of insulting in a way.

Wooden acting and a lack of interesting directorial choices keep this from legit or campy. It's kind of a melange of Psycho, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Hills Have Eyes, and a wine glass full of nyquil.
