This film made me like tarantulas more and more,,lol. I love the plot of this movie. A small town out in the southwest is being invaded by tarantulas. William Shatner is awesome in this classic 1977 movie.

Filmed during the lost years of William Shatnerâ??s career, Kingdom of the Spiders is an enjoyable â??badâ?? movie about a town overrun by lickety-split web-spewing tarantulas. Both Shatner and Woody Strode throw themselves into their roles and ya gotta love â??em and their straight faces. The film drags a little bit in the middle, but once the town riot/stampede occurs and the motel siege startsâ??itâ??s just a blast. And that final matte shot!?!?!? I would love to see what those character do after those credits. The new DVD has a nice transfer (still waiting for a Blu Ray remastered edition) and there is a rather entertaining Shatner interview attachedâ??love his intelligent spider theory! VF.

... a perfectly serviceable (if never quite memorable) little film with... a cast of hundreds of real tarantulas swarming over the screen and, often, the cast members.

Well...I would be a biased judge since I believe Shatner is the best thing on earth...though it would have been better with a little Takei and Nimoy. But basically, in a nutshell, teeny tiny itty bitty little spiders kill. Yeah, I'm serious. It's one of those great "environment revenge" movies that never quite make sense but sure make us laugh. If you love the movie "Frogs" or "Them", and how could you not, this would be a great film to watch. If only the spiders were a tiny bit bigger though. Nothing tops a film better than large fuzzy cardboard monsters.
