It is pleasant to look at, but it no longer passes for action and adventure these days.

Very impressive. Looks like they really shot in Africa, too, not some Hollywood back lot. Mind-blowing scenes, like the zebra stampede, elephant-hunting, the tribes . . . just excellent.

Meh. Romance develops between guide and married woman whose husband they are tracking. The last bit is decent, but it almost dissolves into a nature film toward the middle, as the protagonists react to stock film clips of jungle animals.

I saw this film so many years ago and had enjoyed it then, because it was basically like the stories of the Johnny Weissmuller Tarzan films I justo loved as a child,but it is just too reminiscent of those films now, even if it is done far more justice than any other H. Ryder Haggard film ever made.
