considered giving a 3.5, and it was close, but parts of it felt a little straight-to-dvd or low budget. i really liked this movie. i'll re-evaluate if it should be a 3.5 on second viewing. cool and intriguing, i cared about the characters, i was interested in the story. some cool sci-fi stuff. entertaining overall. (1 viewing)

Not surprised the critics hated it, thank goodness for audience reviews because I got to see a great movie. The brother was such a mess I found myself cringing throughout the whole film, had to let go of reality with the police station scene, but outside of that it was a fun film.

If you don't suffer from racial bias this is an AMAZING movie. Just pretend the black kid is a lil white girl, like in Stranger Things and you'll be fine. The biggest mistake the creators of this movie made was having blacks be the core of this movie. Most aren't able to view this without bias as they cannot relate to anything. Had they cast a lil' blue eyed kid this would have been a cult classic like stranger things..

A few dramatic dead-ends don't bring "Kin" down, as most of the feature finds fresh ways to cover old business.

Aside from a few things ...kin is more realistic than it is unrealistic . And it has compassion and a good ending
