Everything a drug gangster movie should not be. Understood the protagonist is a loser, but does he have to be a loser at acting too? There are more than a few plot holes and an obvious lack of research into the source material which is clearly shown in the final cut. The showcase of weed culture is depressing to say the least. According to the film, anywhere the fat kid goes there's just weed and that's even before he becomes a dealer. A poor attempt or a story not worth adapting into film.

I love this movie and the fact that it's based on a true story to. 5 stars! i still don't understand why this movie didn't do good.

This felt like a short film. It was good. Very good. Almost felt like a documentary. While the likeness of the main character is so horribly off, the story seemed to be played out very well as compared to the actual events. It was a very good biopic and very interesting to watch. A surprising few major actors in what appeared to be an otherwise low budget biopic. A must see even if you are not interested in the industry that this film is based on.

Kid Cannabis is a film about a young man looking to make his riches, but lacks the institutional skills or patience to move up the economic ladder. So what does a kid do? Sell drugs and lots of it. This film is based on a true story which makes it much more intriguing and entertaining. The actors in this film aren't superb, but it doesn't have to be because the story holds it own. The film is filled with amateur actors which works to add a vibe of realism and authenticity. I don't want to give up any spoilers, but its worthy of our time. Kid Cannabis went under the radar and that's usually where one finds gems. Sold film.

This movie had the potential to be really good. The story sounds interesting and exciting, which you think would translate well on-screen. Unfortunately, this film suffers from an identity crisis that made it really hard for me to get into it. It's a serious story based on true events, but some of the time it almost feels like you're getting a comedy vibe, which doesn't really work well. I think a darker, more dramatic tone would have made this film a lot better.
