Phil Weston has been unathletic his entire life. In college he failed at every sport that he tried out for. It looks like his 10-year old son, Sam, is following in his footsteps. But when Phil's hyper-competitive dad benches Sam, Phil decides to transfer his son to a new team which needs a coach. Phil steps in to be the temporary coach and immediately begins to butt heads with his dad over this new competition in their lives.

This is a charming sports comedy that's sure to tickle your funny bone. Will Ferrell delivers yet another standout performance as the bumbling soccer coach who must lead a team of kids to victory. Director Jesse Dylan infuses the film with a light-hearted tone that never takes itself too seriously, making it a perfect movie for a family night in. While the story may not break any new ground, the film's heartwarming moments and Ferrell's comic timing make it a must-see for fans of the genre. Overall, Kicking and Screaming is an enjoyable and feel-good movie that's perfect for a relaxing evening.

Awesome movie!! It was fun and funny!! The whole family will enjoy this movie!! The cast was great, especially Will Ferrell as always!! He was so funny from start to finish!! This is a must-see!!

Personally, I don't know why both critics and audiences hated this on Rotten Tomatoes. I think it's a pretty good film, and it looked like Will Ferrell would make a perfect lead in a family friendly comedy that would appeal to a family audience. Ferrell's craziness also will appeal well. The first time I saw this movie I had a big smile on my face when Ferrell was on screen with his big antics. I'd recommend it.
