When aspiring filmmaker David is mandated by a judge to attend a social program at the Jewish Community Center, he is sure of one thing: he doesn't belong there. But when he's assigned to visit the Brooklyn Bridge with the vivacious Sarah, sparks fly and his convictions are tested. Their budding relationship must weather Sarah's romantic past, David's judgmental mother, and their own pre-conceptions of what love is supposed to look like.

Beautiful. Heartwarming. Funny. The lead actress, Samantha Elisofon, puts together one of my favorite performances I've seen on screen in awhile. I truly enjoyed every second of it, and to think that so much of the cast and crew are first-timers makes it even more impressive!

Keep the Change acknowledges that people with disabilities can sometimes be largely responsible for the biggest problems they face, just like the rest of us — and it doesn't need to be Pollyannaish to believe those problems are solvable.

An incredible heart warming story - characters portray genuine dialogue that includes audience. As the story unfolds, you feel a wide range of emotions, sympathy, empathy, joy and sadness, acceptance and distance, social engagement and distance, ending with 'team' work. A must see movie for 2018.

Autism aside, writer-director Rachel Israel’s debut film is a fairly typical, low-budget New York romance, complete with an excursion to Coney Island. What distinguishes it are Israel’s empathetic characterizations — she’s known Polansky for 15 years — and the winning performances, not only by the leads but also by the supporting players.
