Fatso (1980)

Dominick DiNapoli is a man who loves food and is overweight as a result. After an obese cousin dies due to health problems, Dominick's sister Antoinette sets out to help him lose weight. Although he has a hard time trying to slim down, Dominick finds inspiration when he meets and falls for shop owner Lydia. Can he get up the courage to ask her out, or will he go back to the comfort of overeating?

This is one very funny movie. Anne Bancroft and Dom DeLuise were great together. But eat a full meal before watching to avoid raiding the refrigerator.

A few scenes leave you crying laughing. A few scene try to get you just plain crying and don't. But Bancroft does get you feeling for the big guy. Perhaps it should've focused on the gags a bit more, but a satisfying comedy nonetheless.

Not particularly funny material to begin with. But Bancroft's approach to it is so ambiguous we're thoroughly confused.

Oh yes. It's about being fat! LOL...but a charming film! What's not to love? Anne Bancroft and Food!
