Barney Lincoln is a rambling gambling man who scores sensational wins at poker and chemin de fer because he has succeeded in marking the original plates for the backs of all the playing cards manufactured in a plant in Geneva and used in all the gambling joints in Europe. In his gambling depredation, Barney is spotted by Angel McGinnis, the daughter of a Scotland Yard Inspector 'Manny' McGinnis on the lookout for a man to do a job. The inspector enlists Barney's help in playing poker with a shady London character whom Scotland Yard wants to force to financial ruin.

A sylish crime caper befitting the late 60's. Beatty and York do a good job playing out this nice angle to the poker cheat.

Warren Beatty and Susannah York are certainly a handsome cinematic pairing and the story of a gambler forced to help the police nab a narcotics smuggler would seem like the makings of a great time. However, there's probably a reason I'd never heard of this film before because despite the cast and a good story set-up, the film ends up being rather dull and lifeless. It's not terrible, but it's pretty forgettable.

wow umn just seen this movie 4 the 1st time n think that this is a good movie 2 watch...its got a good cast of actors/actressess throughout this movie...i think that warren beatty, susannah york, clive revill, george sewell, eric porter, murray melvin play good roles/parts throughout this movie....i think that the director of this crime/comedy/classics movie had done a good job of directing this movie because its a really good movie 2 watch its got a great cast thorughout this movie...i think that this is a good 1960's movie 2 watch
