Kagemusha (1980)

Akira Kurosawa's lauded feudal epic presents the tale of a petty thief who is recruited to impersonate Shingen, an aging warlord, in order to avoid attacks by competing clans. When Shingen dies, his generals reluctantly agree to have the impostor take over as the powerful ruler. He soon begins to appreciate life as Shingen, but his commitment to the role is tested when he must lead his troops into battle against the forces of a rival warlord.

visualmente es una gran pelicula, en historia tambien, en fin una gan pelicula del mejor director de todos los tiempos.

In 1572, there was a civil war in Japan. The legendary warlord Shingen Takeda was assassinated. To deceive his enemies, Kagemusha (Shadow Warrior) was used by the Takeda clan. Along the years, Kagemusha gradually incorporated as the dead warlord. The directing is good with a nice story, great performance of actors and unforgtable visual and audio effects. This is one of the masterpiece by Akira Kurosawa.

i think this movie is soooo good. it was amazing. everyonei s interesting. he finds a thief.

this movie is in my oppinion one of kurosawa's best movies. it is very slow, but the character study of some one who is living as the shadow of a great man is very fascinating and keeps the viewer on edge throughout the whole 3 hours. yes kurosawa got carried away with the visuals, but that is what he does and it worked in this movie because movies like this are supposed to be like that. if you like kurosawa you must see this movie.

one of my favorite movies, the transformation of the thief/thug without honor, to the warlord, then back to the peasant is unbelievable. And in the end how powerful the mere peasant becomes in the end with honor toward the clan that he ruled, truly understanding what a leader must really be.
