This was a very fun sci-fi space flick with an intriguing plot, likable characters, comedy, intense action scenes, romance for the ladies, and some neat world building. I feel that people were a bit too harsh toward it. Maybe it's the two leads, or maybe it's just hate towards the Wachowskis because it's the "cool" thing do to, or maybe people expected to much from this film. I expect two things from a space epic: 1. to be invested in the story 2. to have fun. Jupiter Ascending gave me both. Let's be perfectly honest here. Were you really expecting this to be as great as "The Empire Strikes Back"? I expected a fun/campy/neat sci-fi/space adventure flick and Jupiter Ascending delivered just that. (Note: I give the film 4 stars but I rated it 5 stars to keep the positive reactions going.)

I don't understand why it got such a bad reaction when it was so like Guardians of the Galaxy which did very well. The special effects, visuals, and concepts were outstanding. The acting was good. Yes there was a lot background to cover to set up the world but they handled it.

OK, I passed this movie in the theater because of the reviews here. Then I rent it and it was fantastic. Thanks you stupid reviewers who think only comic books make sense. Sorry this was not based on a comic book so you could be happy.

Visually stunning. Good, pure science fiction which isn't "prettied up" for a low brow audience. I hope the production staff can see past the critics and keep on trudging to create a sequel. Mila Kunis is brilliant, in my humble opinion. Also my opinion; If you don't understand it [critics], don't attempt to rate it.
