I truly liked this movie. While it is a documentary and not quiet so attention grabbing...it really makes you see how serious some people are about their art. For such a small restaurant that is located in a subway station...I have to say that I would love to travel to Japan just to eat there.

This is definitely one of those movies where you wish you weren't watching it but you were actually there trying out whatever it is that Jiro was making. His restaurant has just been added to my list of must visit this year. If you are a lover of Japanese Cuisine, this is a must watch for you. Amazing movie of a man with such incredible ethics.

After watching this documentary on Jiro Ono, one will lose all respect for AYCE Sushi but gain utter respect for how much effort and dedication one puts in to make such a tiny piece of food. Jiro is humorous, done with crazy DOF perspective and light music that will leave you leaving the theatre craving for Japanese food.

So inspiring. The many lessons learned from this documentary can be applied to whatever you want to do in the future. Loved this movie! Definitely watch it.

It may start out a bit slow for some, but the ultimate beauty of the story is Jiro's simple but disciplined life. His dedication to his craft and looking to each and every day as a challenge to be even better than the last, never accepting anything less than perfection. In sharing his knowledge for free if you're willing to make the 10 year commitment as an apprentice, to truly grasp his patience of creating the purest of sushi. Really a great little film, that will not only leave you hungry for some choice sushi, but a little wiser too.
