Gives the boxing pic a vigorous workout. Harris commits himself fully, both emotionally and physically.

Rob Carnevale 17 May 2017

While the basic framework of the Jawbone story hardly feels fresh, the execution from everyone involved makes it easy to overlook some of the more familiar elements. It's a sobering film, in many ways, and a quietly impressive one throughout.

Julian Wood 19 Oct 2017

...there are moments of simple truthfulness.

Jamie East 10 May 2017

A raw, honest and touching film as much about grief and dependency as it is about boxing.

Tim Robey 11 May 2017

Harris ... has built and rendered a character Ken Loach might have won awards for.
