Set in a futuristic world where the only sport that has survived in a wasted society is the brutal game known as jugging. Sallow, the leader of a rag-tag team, has played in the main Leagues before, but was cast out because of indiscretions with a lady. There is much worse sci-fi stuff gathering dust on your video shelves, but that is really no recommendation at all.

I have yet to find this movie on DVD, damn it! Such a great apocalyptic movie.

Plot development is slim. Much of running time is given over to the game itself, which seems to have no rules except that the winning team places the skull of a dog atop a pointed stick.

The low rating given to this film by the supposed 'pro' critics is a perfect example of why I have such a low opinion of 'pro' critics.

salute of the jugger as it is call when I saw it a all round ok film has not aged that badly , one a few good films that came out straight to video in the late 80's
