It's a low-budget post-apocalyptic sci-fi sports movie. And I kid you not, it's EXCELLENT. Also worth checking out to see a young Vincent D'Onofrio showing promise with a small role in the main team of "Juggers".

Plot development is slim. Much of running time is given over to the game itself, which seems to have no rules except that the winning team places the skull of a dog atop a pointed stick.

This is really called Salute of the Jugger, you stupid Americans. Great apocalyptic nonsense with Rutger Hauer.

Great action movie which surprised me by just how good it actually was. Once you get past the start and trying to figure out the rules you get to see a great drama with human elements.

Interesting take on the post-apocalyptic genre. Its a violent mix of the NFL and American Gladiators with a dash of post-WWIII.
