Non capivo la necessitÃ , per cosÃ¬ dire, di un film su Andreotti. Forse continuo a non capirla, ciononostante il film Ã¨ ovviamente ottimo, cosa che mi aspettavo, trattandosi di Sorrentino. Scritto e diretto con la giusta quantitÃ di ironia, l'unica cosa che non posso fare a meno di chiedermi Ã¨ quanto sia fruibile da chi non ha dimestichezza con la politica italiana di quegli anni.

As a primer to modern Italian politics, "Il Divo" is like touring the subject in a candy-apple-red Ferrari. You might not learn much, but you will remember the experience.

Excellent sound design. Measured portrayal of a complex character. Dragged a little towards the end, but a class piece of work.
