It looks beautiful but lacks any real tension because of Clift's restrained, almost deadpan acting.

Even though it lacks the suspense that other Hitchcock movies have, I found the dilemma that I Confess revolves around fascinating.

Brilliant! Great hero in Fr. Logan. Hitchcock delivers on how the sanctity of confession is greater than the law, and the truth will prevail no matter the obstacles or extreme situations. More of a provocative drama than a fullout suspense, I really enjoyed how this movie resolved itself using Christ imagery to bolster Fr. Logan. Hitchcock does it again.

Maybe my favorite Hitchcock movie yet. Great story about a man trying to do what's right, without flinching despite pressure. Really well shot and good pacing.
