Sam, a neurodivergent man, has a daughter with a homeless woman who abandons them when they leave the hospital, leaving Sam to raise Lucy on his own. But as Lucy grows up, Sam's limitations as a parent start to become a problem and the authorities take her away. Sam convinces high-priced lawyer Rita to take his case pro bono and in turn teaches her the value of love and family.

sean penn sizzles as usual. michelle pfeiffer is nice on the eyes. undeniably, dakota fanning is the real star. everytime she delivered a crucial line, my heart melts. bring 10 boxes of tissues if you want to watch this.

I LOVED this movie, Sean Penn did such an awesome job playing this role. Dakota Fanning is both adorable and endearing, and Michelle Pfifer portrays the perfect image of a woman trying miserably to balance work and family. when I put this movie into my DVD, I get the tissues handy because I know I'm going to use them!

The cast was wonderful, especially Sean Penn and Dakota Fanning. I didn't really see any weakness and I truely felt the emotion of the characters. So worth the watch.
