On her deathbed, a mother makes her son promise never to get married, which scars him with psychological blocks to a commitment with his girlfriend. An enjoyable though distinctly second-degree comedy by writer-director Andrew Bergman. Full of fun around the edges, it's rather flat and unfelt at the center.

I didnot recognise Sarah Jessica Parker from the cover. She must have filmed this prior to getting a new nose, coz it doesn't look right :P. Her face is a little rounder in the film. I think she looks better there. Nicholas Cage is still playing his dispressed loser character. A very cheesy feel good film. I liked it.

I love Cage's transformation from laid back every man to a manic romantic on the edge! His scene while in line with Ben Stein at the airport is priceless! Add in a smarmy James Caan, Vegas Showgirls and the Flying Elvises (Utah Chapter) and you've got my kind of romantic comedy!. Sadly, the DVD is still fullscreen (panned and scanned) and not yet available in a widescreen release.
