Excellent horror movie with a great duo cast as the refugees. This one reminded me of CM Punk's house of horror movie which I forget the name of sadly. This one was better, and was very creepy. Cool story here too, and there's a twist at the end with the daughter and her so called "parents".

Horror is often cathartic, purifying — it puts you through the wringer but you emerge on the other side, somehow cleansed. You’ll find no such succor here. His House is beautifully made, and its scares are monstrously effective, but its images of real-world dread remain unresolved, its specters unvanquished. The film leaves you with wounds that won’t heal.

Dear all horror writers and directors: this is what a good horror film looks like. Thought-provoking, scary, harrowing even, this film does so much storytelling in such a small space. You'll be kept guessing as to what it at all means up to the very end, but not without going through some incredibly touching moments. I can count on one hand the number of horror films that have made me think about their themes after I'd finished watching, and this is one of them. So if you like horror and films that have something to say then don't miss this one.

It’s not close to being the scariest movie you’ve seen this year. But the political/immigration subtext, the grim cause-and-effect of their haunting and a pretty good twist or two make His House a haunted British council flat tale well worth checking out.
