Hero (1984)

Hero is action oriented movie in which Chiranjeevi played a role of archeologist in thish movie, who comes to a village in search of a plan for the hidden treasure. His friend vikram was killed in the same village trying for that plan.One day during his work, he saves kanakaraju (rao gopal rao), his wives (jayamalini, jyoti lakshmi) and Allu from dying. They become his friend and also treat him as their philosopher and guide.Meanwhile radhika, a village belle who cheats people with her mother nirmalamma meets Chiranjeevi and falls for him. She forces him to marry her.When krishna refuses, she successfully enerts the role of a rape victim in front of the villagers. Krishna later learns that Kanakraju was in fact Kondababu, who killed vikram, who was seacring a plan for the hidden treasure. How krishna plans and exposes kanakaraju's reality forms the rest of the story.

Gorgeous to look at and some awesome action sequences.

On a visual level, the film could not have been any better. Transitioning between scenes featuring two men waging war through one-on-one combat in a local chess house, and a battle of swords above a mirror-like river make "Hero" quite the experience for anyone's eyes to see. Everything from the storyline to the film's physical appearence all assisted with a thunderous score from the great Tan Dun make "Hero" a definant recommendation for any lover of films.

An experience on blu-ray that can finally be brought into the home the way the creator intended, Hero is epic in scope and its use of motion and color to convey feeling and meaning. It is an action movie that speaks to the senselessness of violence and revenge, and to what it truly means to be a hero. Be sure to have your thinking cap on before pushing play.

An epic adventure which the title "Masterpiece" does not even procure the slightest bit of justice. The characters and acting is done so well that one can fully comprehend their emotions and intent without even the need for subtitles. The only thing this movie lacks is an audience with enough depth to realize the gift their senses had just received. "Hero" is simply beautiful.

China, the Warring States Period: A nameless warrior has been brought to meet the King of Qin, a powerful warlord who seeks to establish Empire over the other 5 kingdoms. Nameless has slain 3 assassins from the Kingdom of Zhao who had sworn to kill the King of Qin, thus he is permitted to approach His Majesty and recount the story of his deeds....but the King is clever and knows all is not as it seems... Beautiful, gorgious, magnificent, awsome. With cinematography, action and characters to sweep you into a world long past this is a must see, and is much, much better then Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon on every level. This is a movie to lose yourself in (the duel on the lake between Jet Li and Tony Leung was worth the price of the DVD alone, add the final scenes between Nameless and the King and its a steal). Weaving action, art both visual and musical, and the ideals of noble sacrifice, if you haven't seen it stop what your doing and grab a copy, this is defeinitly a must see.
