Didn't know what to expect from a 1922 movie, but this was certainly interesting. The early, cruder, psychology used to "explain" what was really going on is interesting to see.

Silent documentary about witchcraft in times past, with a good moral story about man's inhumanity to his fellow men (and women).

I'm giving five stars to the 1968 version just for the William S. Burroughs narration and the Jazz score. Four for the original.

One of the most visually impressive movies of all time! Benjamin Christensen is one of the most over looked filmmakers of all time.

Honestly, still scary as fuck. A good depiction of the witchcraft trials and what people thought were going on. You can feel their fear, because you see what they were scared of, and you're scared of it yourself. Also, a very creative blend between fiction and documentary, with both parts equally interesting. Even the filming looks wonderful. Just sometimes a bit rough around the edges. Some audiences might get lost.
