so close to exploitative, and yet redeemed by relatively good writing. jimmy smits shows his complete lack of range. naomi shines, though this is only a fraction of the talent she would later show

Smits is seduced by Watts, who is young and beautiful here. Acceptable Australian-ﬁlmed movie as Smits tries to clear his name, but Miller, at that point, did not have Hollywood-type money to play with. Sadly, it shows, but the man does his best.
