I like a good hero and the hero in this story definitely delivers with a great deal of heart. A snow covered landscape provides a very serene atmosphere throughout and is the perfect compliment to the story that unfolds. The production quality of this film was excellent.

Un chambara crepusculaire offrant une photographie exemplaire, mettant les 4 elements a l'honneur : la boue, la neige et l'ocean, le vent et le feu. Une celebration de l'individu moral contre le groupe corrompu.

A pretty good Samurai drama. Hideo Gosha obviously got most of his storytelling and cinematography ideas from Akira Kurosawa. My only real complaint is the protagonist's wife's bad teeth. It was really unpleasent to look at and led me to wonder why the protagonist didn't dump her for the other girl in the movie.
