The low-budget movie, shot in artful black-and-white by Ante Cheng, pulses with yearning and sorrow and love for its characters. Its brightening touches of underplayed humor strengthen and comment on the main action.

Although it's rough around the edges, the expected low-budget trappings work mostly to the benefit of this gritty and evocative drama.

It was an ambitious project to take on so many complicated themes, and the end result is a good film that is touching and thoughtful.

Great movie, extremely well acted and has a great score. My only main issue is that the film is set in 1992, but due to the low budget you can see brand new cars in some shots in the backgrounds. It took me out of the movies time period a bit, but other than that it's a perfect film.
