This isn't a typical Matthew McConaughey movie. He stepped outside his typical sexy guy role and pulled it off, showing how great of an actor he really is.

I don't know what movie the 37% saw but it wasn't the one i watched. Movie was entertaining (McConaughey was outstanding as usual. They were right about that) and a good period piece. I recommend it.

Unlike the other reviews I actually really enjoyed this movie. The acting was great as well as the story.

Buoyed by McConaughey's unabashedly way-out performance, the result is sporadically amusing but inconsistent and, in the end, unsatisfying.
