I wouldn't really call it funny, rather honest and forced. Slightly contrived. She attempts to be a comedian in the midst of recounting a great personal loss. I'm not certain how one could pull it off, but she comes across as honest.

Poignant--but never depressing, thanks to Sweeney's sharp--and, it appears, therapeutic--wit.

beautiful movie to watch. Julia Sweeney really has a talent and a way of expressing herself that absorbs you into her story ...laugh, cry, reflect, great movie ...

Julia Sweeney delivers an extended monologue that's so exquisitely written and so emotionally touching that she manages the near-impossible task of captivating the audience for 85 minutes with quite a demanding material.

Julie Sweeney is great in this small gem of a film.
