Fay Grim (2007)

Many years after her notorious husband, Henry Fool, fled after killing a neighbor, Fay Grim receives a visit from CIA agent Fulbright, who tells her that Henry is dead, but that some of his journals have been unearthed in France. She sets forth on a globe-trotting odyssey that soon leads to the discovery that he is alive, and his journals are more than they appear to be.

Strange thing about this is that.. I really didn't realize it was a sequel until I watched the special features. I vaguely remember hearing about Henry Fool, but never got the chance to watch it.. I think this film is really good as a stand alone film.. (although I think there were some things that might have been more meaningful had I known the characters history) Wonderful cinematography.. The acting was very hitchcock like.. which seems a bit too... fake .. eventually you get to the point where you don't notice it though.. it's just part of the characters.. I am not quite sure I like the end, but I suppose it makes sense..

SO GOOD. Definitely not like the first but I like that about it. They weren't just shooting a sequel. They were basically making a completely different movie, much more comedy and action than the first. The only thing that followed from the first was the plot, really. The movie in itself was really good, I thought. I liked everything about it, the style of acting, the dialogue, the endearing characters, the (purposely?) confusing plot, the ending.. Watch it!

Parker Posey was again great but I wish Henry had been in this one more. I didn't like all the conspiracy stuff and I think it took the movie in a worse direction that the first. Still, funny and well acted.

Really really great to see a quirky challenging film for a change. Amazingly brilliant lead performance by Parker. The plot does get a little bit too complicated sometimes, but that is only a minor flaw. Hal Hartley really shows how the medium of digital video should be used

I loved this witty, quirky, sarcastic, quickfooted accidental espionage movie. Parker Posey is clever, funny and touching as Fay.
