The list of co-stars – Jane Fonda, Octavia Spencer, Aaron Paul – is so impressive that it’s hard to know what attracted everyone to such a soapy, cloying script.

I strongly recommend this movie to any father. Life can really be tricky and this story shows the full picture of the challenges we may face. Always admired Russell Crowe for his outstanding ability to play great hero and weak personalities. Great performance from Amanda Seyfried too!

A nice touch of authenticity. As the movie jumps back and forth in time, the director chose to use a skyline of NYC with the WTC still standing to authenticate the earlier scenes.

I found Russell Crowe to be superb in this. You cannot help but feel a little disturbed by the condition that ails his character and how it affects the life of his teenage daughter in later years. Some of it is nothing but filler and melodramatic at times but deep down there's a powerful message, if you look hard enough.
