It may lack the emotional weight and beauty of The Snowman, but Father Christmas does manage to be incredibly entertaining in it's own right, thanks to the funny depictions of the hijinks Father Christmas gets into throughout the rest of the year and Mel Smith's great voice-acting skills in depicting a grumpier and more relatable Santa than in most depictions. An overall bloomin' classic.

This reminds me so much of Christmas' whilst growing up. I'd look forward to watching this either on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day - it was less sad than The Snowman, and quite funny too. Fantastic.

Very well animated, and a refreshing concept. It was great seeing what Father Christmas got up to 364 days of the year.

Whilst innevitably never reaching the sheer magical brilliance of "The Snowman", "Father Christmas" is still an enjoyable ride as Father Christmas (Mel Smith) goes on holiday and prepares for the forthcoming Christmas. Mel Smith is suitably grumpy and humourous as the man himself , but it falls short of being a classic.
