Tensely pendular tracking shots and deft full-circle pans mesh split-second action with a repressed romanticism; after a tautly efficient car chase, the inevitable conflagration yields a majestic, paranoid stillness.

AN interesting flawed film by James Toback. Kinski is pretty good, though it's the rambling, bizarre plot that fails to impress. There are some good scenes and less erotica than one might expect. Harvey Keitel gives yet another great performance as a terrorist in a small part. He plays the baddie like no one else can. The locations and direction are very very good.

Wow this movie doesn't work. In fact, it starts out kinda like Lolita on a farm and then turns into Che Guevera in Paris or James Bond attacks. It wasn't boring at least. Rudolf Nureyev makes for the oddest romantic lead/action hero ever in a movie. I half expected him to break out into interpretive ballet. Why didn't Ian McShane have his part?
