Englishman Adam regains full consciousness after a seizure - tens of thousands of miles from home - only to discover that someone has surgically extracted one of his kidneys. All roads lead to a shady drug company called Phenal, which Adam believes is plotting against him, systematically. As Adam's paranoia builds, he realizes that no one around him can be fully trusted.

The film tries to be a complex psychological thriller, but ends up becoming redundant and uninteresting instead. The main character repeatedly goes back and forth between place and time which causes a disorienting effect, but the story is never progressed forward. As a result, the film becomes dragged out, tiring, and loses our interest before the big revelation. This is a shame, as the key to the mystery, though seen many times in other psycho-thrillers, is interesting and hard to predict. Still, the twist itself is not innovative or original, thus making the trudge through the rest of the film not worth the time investment. It tries hard, it really does, and something must be said of its earnestness, but the film simply doesn't come off right.

A series of narrative left turns that exist largely for their own sake rather than in the service of any mystery-unlocking logic. Result is a busy but forgettable low-budget thriller.
