This is a wonderful contrast of the beautiful and the seedy sides of life! Loved the perfomances of Burt Lancaster, Jean Simmons, Shirley Jones, and Dean Jagger. Three cheers to director Richard Brooks!

This movie shows us what we need to be wary of in the mixing of religion with money, popularity or power. Too bad it is so real. Great acting, good script, excellent movie. Leaves me wondering why did Apartment win out for Best Pic.?

The only movie I have watched over 100 times. It's the middle 1/3 of the book by Sinclair Lewis; Lancaster's performance was exciting, engaging and fun. Also, an important period piece that deals with American Revivalism in its embryonic stage.
