Blows the dust off the musty, old genre of gang movies, "Triad" is interesting because it makes the point that just because there is democracy, that doesn't mean that things are going to be easy, or less violent. The gore is nauseating, and proves a point to the power of desperation. The sword play seems a little off, and there are points in the first act where the dialogue is fast, and the action is slow, so I'm left feeling watching nothing; but it really picks up, to disturbing levels.

The sequel to 'Election', Mr. To now looks at the Triad system after the Chinese takeover. As good as the first, with more political overtones. Good stuff.

I think it takes the Best Mob Movie I have yet seen award. I rank the series so far better than the Godfather, though of course it owes much to it. You really have to see it after watching, Election I. I watched them both in the same day. Brilliant.
