Poet Yusuf (35-38) returns to his childhood hometown, which he hadn't visited for years, upon his mother's death. He is faced with a neglected, crumbling house. Ayla, a young girl (17-19) awaits him there. Yusuf has been unaware of the existence of this distant relation who had been living with his mother for five years; He stays by his dead mother's bedside for a while on the morning of his return...

A movie that can especially be only an entrance. It is so. There's no story, no dialogues, no clue about characters just a little cinematography. And i didn't really love acting at all. 6.9/10

Many good things about this film: good acting, sensitive direction, a real feel for time and place. However, all this cannot disguise the fact that there's just not enough of a story, and so, a lot just seems like boring futility.

Yeni bir minimalist sinemaci doguyor. Onceki isi "Melegin Dususu" ile tarzi uzerinde ipuclari veren yonetmen Semih Kaplanoglu'nun son filmi "Yumurta" gorulmeye deger. Insanin uzerine uzerine gelen ama garip bir baglayiciligi olan kucuk sehir yasamini cok basarili bir sekilde anlatmis.

What a soft wave of cinematographic flood wrapped with humanistic /romantic story ! I watched Honey which is the 3rd part of Yusuf Trilogy for Semih Kaplanoglu the same style....especially his beauty emerging shots & silence that tells more than keeps secret
