It's not just that the movie is funny, though it is, it's that the movie is always on point, satirizing consumerist and capitalist culture, the swinging '70s and the residual garishness of the early '80s, and even the prudish backlash the main characters represent.

Paul Bartel's "Cult Film Classic" has well earned it's place in Cinematic History. One of the darker and more clever uses of satire on American consumerism and the rise of the 1980's Yuppies as well as new hypocritical slant toward sexuality. Everything is up for grabs and laughs.

I watched this one night on CityTV when I was a kid and loved it. Perhaps it was the nudity because the acting and storyline are a bit sketchy.

Outlandish and preposterous as its premise may be, this film is a well-crafted satire on 80's America and sexual mores, as well as a riot to watch. A black comedy masterpiece! Bon appetit.
