The movie was watchable in the sense that you didn't know what's coming and at some parts it was interesting. Still, the acting was quite bad (I might be wrong though as maybe I just don't like Aussie movies lately), and the story at the end unfolded in really stupid fashion in my opinion. Basically John Cusack's character takes a driving lesson with a driving instructor who is an ex car racer and robs a bank and makes the ex car racer do the driving. There are some funny moments in the movie, but there are also are some quite stupid moments too, which just doesn't make much sense either plot wise or just simply.

Drive hard. Former race car driver Peter Roberts (jane) gave up his dream job to have a normal everyday safe life and became a driving instructor. All appears well until one person shows for a driving lesson, Simon Keller (cusack). Keller uses Roberts as a getaway driver after he holds up a property for a $9 million heist. They both have to go on the run for corupt cops and a set of mobsters who are desperate for their money back. Roberts has to use his driving skills to avoid them being captured. All in all another everyday bank heist getaway driver movie, nothing new to watch and quite dire not even Cusack can remedy this one. Writing is poor and Jane wasnt into his role at all, stay clear.

The stars' banter is insipid and unfunny, the wacky shocks short out and, most unforgivably, the car chases are a snooze, filmed as a series of stationary close-ups and diced in the editing room until they suggest anything but movement.

If you’re not expecting too much, Drive Hard is mindlessly entertaining, but it lacks that spark of madness that might have made it truly fun. At least Cusack is able to shed some of his usual overseriousness.
