Perhaps the best of De Palma's Hitchcockian thrillers is this suspenseful murder mystery turned stylish thriller. Great cast, inventive direction, and a few good twists and turns saves this fine film from being the Psycho-knock off that so many critics would claim it to be. Donaggio's music score is also a lovely and haunting touch.

Un film a metÃ tra il citazionismo e l'innovazione: tanti omaggi a Hitchcock di cui Brian de Palma Ã¨ il diretto erede, tante citazioni anche al cinema italiano di genere (i primi piani che seguono gli sguardi dei personaggi) oltre a scene e sequenze memorabili (una lunga scena ambientata in un museo e completamente priva di dialogo ma con un intrigante musica di sottofondo firmata da Pino Donaggio). Un film che, sebbene abbia come predecessore Psyco, non disdegna e prevale nella regia e nella fotografia che Ã¨ a dir poco eccezionale. Voto: 4/5

Eerily transcendent, Dressed to Kill is a layered machine of on-target character work and the sort of tension that only the best of the best filmmakers can ratchet.

Dressed to Kill remains a prime example of how De Palma is able to marry his awesome technical prowess to the material, using his dazzling feats of cinematic derring-do to propel his stories rather than bury their weaknesses.
